More than 800 high school students, teachers and administrators from all
six Salem-Keizer high schools have signed a petition condemning a racial
incident at South Salem High School last month and asking the school
board to help prevent similar incidents.

On March 15, a South Salem student walked the halls during lunch wearing
a hooded sweatshirt and a T-shirt reading “F— Niggers” and carrying a
sign that read “Death to Niggers,” the petition states.

IMO, this kind of stuff in a high school is simply uncalled for. The
student should be expelled. It sure doesn't promote racial unity and is
actually inflammatory. This story was also on the news of some PDX
channel

Woohoo! Tracy Loew was a classmate of mine, and then a TA. Excellent!
(Before she got her BS in Journalism she had already worked undercover at a
nursing home to expose the neglect and corruption there. She's a badass.)

Why, yes. I'd say so. Odd coming from you, though, after dem fried chicken
and watermelon shots you made at African Americans.

I wonder..Whats the significance of the "hooded sweatshirt" being mentioned?
Seems to me the only relevant piece of clothing would be the t-shirt with
the words on it.
Some vague "hood" reference to the KKK by the reporter perhaps? Im sure its
hardly a special deal. Just about every teenager I see wears a hooded
sweatshirt most of the time.
Maybe its nothing...just curious.

I saw the kid on the news, and he said it was a "gift" from his friends
referring to some part of their favorite movie "Pulp Fiction". Seems he and
his friends are not very smart.

Exactly. The student chose unwisely.
